BOOKKEEPER / OFFICE MANAGER (Part-time / Full-time)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Bookkeeper / Office Manager will manage the data entry in our books, accounts receivables / payables, and bill-pay. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 30 hours of work per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeper – Transactions

  • Input all bills and generate all invoices in Quickbooks
  • Ensure that all accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Process payroll and employee benefits in a timely manner
  • Ensure that monthly bank and credit card reconciliations are completed on a timely basis
  • Ensure that monthly inventory reconciliations are completed on a timely basis
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts in Quickbooks
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting and cash transactions Office Manager — Reporting / Organization
  • Open/answer/forward voicemails and open/answer/forward mail
  • Process all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, tax filings/reporting, bottle deposit filings and price filings
  • File and renew all necessary permits and licenses (including TTB label filings)

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS

A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred but not required. Other qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of all accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, and payroll.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel and QuickBooks skills and expertise.

BARISTA

POSITION SUMMARY

Half Full currently operates a coffee shop, to-go beer shop and tasting room  at its new location at 575 Pacific Street, Third Place by Half Full Brewery.  The Barista will be responsible for delivering a fantastic customer experience to everyone at Third Place. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Greeting and hosting all customers
  • Taking and delivering coffee/tea orders to customers in a timely manner, both for onsite consumption and for pickup orders
  • Properly serving our products to customers, including coffee & tea
  • Educating customers on our coffee products, supplier and process
  • Educating customers on the Half Full brand 
  • Busing tables and clearing of any trash to keep customer spaces immaculate
  • Managing the inventory and point of sale systems
  • Undergoing regular training

EXPECTED SHIFTS:

There will be the opportunity for both full-time and part-time shifts.  Shifts may vary depending on the day, and shifts will include but not limited to Weekdays and Weekends from 7am-3pm.

A passion for hand-crafted beverages and an optimistic demeanor are paramount to this position. This position will require weekend availability.

  • Have prior experience in a customer service or food & beverage service role
    • Coffee shop experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate!

BARTENDER

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for part-time bartenders to join our Tasting Room staff at our 43 Homestead Ave location. The Bartender/Server will be responsible for delivering a fantastic customer experience to everyone at Half Full Brewery. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Greeting and hosting all customers
  • Taking and delivering beer orders to customers in a timely manner, both for onsite consumption and for pickup orders
  • Properly serving our products to customers, including draft beer & cocktails
  • Educating customers on Half Full Brewery products and the craft beer industry
  • Educating customers on the Half Full brand 
  • Busing tables and clearing of any trash to keep customer spaces immaculate
  • Managing the inventory and point of sale systems

EXPECTED SHIFTS:

The tasting room is currently open Thursday-Saturday. Typical shifts include Thursday and Friday 3:30-close, Saturday 11:30-5 or 5-close. An ideal candidate would be available for 1 or 2 shifts every week or every other week.

Line Cook – Third Place 

(Full-time)

POSITION SUMMARY

Half Full currently operates a coffee shop, tasting room & bar, and event space  at its new location at 575 Pacific Street, Third Place by Half Full Brewery.  The Line Cook will prepare food using recipes and menu items created by the Third Place managers and help keep the kitchen operating smoothly.  Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
  • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks 
  • Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts 
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations

Kitchen Manager – Third Place

(Full-time)

POSITION SUMMARY

Half Full currently operates a coffee shop, tasting room & bar, and event space  at its new location at 575 Pacific Street, Third Place by Half Full Brewery.  The Kitchen Manager will be in charge of coordinating and supervising Third Place’s kitchen staff according to food safety standards. Their duties include hiring, training and scheduling Cooks, performing quality control on food leaving the kitchen and ordering inventory to keep up with demand. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that all food items and products are stored, prepared and served based on the recipe, preparation and portion standards 
  • Supervising food preparation in the kitchen and ensuring that customers are satisfied
  • Managing inventory and ordering kitchen materials and ingredients based on the menu and fluctuations in demand 
  • Hiring new staff and providing training; evaluating staff and making promotion/termination decisions
  • Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times
  • Working with the General Manager, Coffee Manager and Events Manager to create menu items, pricing and establishing portion sizes of each meal
  • Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels
  • Creating schedules for all kitchen staff and scheduling shifts by business hours, days, and occasions 
  • Tracking kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste

SHIFT BREWER (FULL TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shift Brewer position shares responsibility with two other brewers for brewhouse operations (milling, brewing, maintaining brewhouse equipment) and will assist with cellaring operations (racking, filtering, tank cleaning), and packaging (canning and kegging) for a growing mid-sized brewery. This role reports to the Head of Brewing Operations, and is a full time position.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have the ability to work around alcohol without abusing it
  • Possess a “can do”, team-first attitude and understand the need to be a self-starter
  • Have basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate machinery, including packaging lines and forklifts
  • Maintain organization, discipline, and be detail oriented. You should have excellent time management skills and always find ways to meet deadlines.
  • Have an infectious enthusiasm and passion for beer, people, and experiences. 

THE SHIFT BREWER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Producing wort on our 20bbl system
  • Transferring, filtering, and cellaring beer
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and sanitizing tanks, equipment, and the brewery itself as necessary
  • Monitoring fermentations and running quality checks
  • Transferring, filtering, and cellaring beer as needed
  • Packaging beer as needed
  • Contributing ideas and recipes for both our main system and our 1bbl pilot system
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Abiding by safety rules and regulations
  • Possessing a willingness to learn, take direction, and work collaboratively
  • Serving as a Half Full Brand Ambassador. As a representative of Half Full, you’ll be expected to carry yourself in a professional manner at all times.

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work at a fast pace and remain on feet for long periods
  • Ability to frequently reach out with hands and arms as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds employing traditional lifting methods
  • Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold and heat
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
